All of us at Jolly Parrot Sailing are delighted to announce the arrival of the newest member of our yacht charter fleet. Karelia is a beautiful Beneteau 50 yacht. A proper blue water cruiser capable of easily accommodating 8 comfortably in four large double cabins with ensuites plus a converting saloon and one forepeak with bunk and heads for the extra nipper!
The Beneteau 50 yacht is a modern cruising classic with many fans worldwide. Whether at anchorage in the far flung Marquesas or closer to home amongst the Balearics, the Beneteau 50 is regularly to be seen draped in bronzed bikini-clad sun worshippers enjoying the best that sailing can offer.
Karelia is well laid out both on deck and below with four ensuite heads with showers, a spacious and well-planned saloon and midships galley and a forward bunk and heads in the forepeak. The yacht comes with all the essentials including a bathing platform with ladder and deck shower and a bimini (for those blazing hot Mediterranean afternoons) where the sun can get in the way of a splendid long lunch).
Of course, larger yachts cost more to buy (and charter) but the great benefit is that you can accommodate more in comfort - and style, making the charter costs per person surprisingly attractive.
If handling 16 tonnes of big boat is a little challenging first time out, don’t worry. We offer a skippered charter option and / or tuition to suit your needs. The Beneteau 50 has a sufficient draft to make upwind sailing a breeze but it’s modest enough to make access to most marinas simplicity itself. Her bow thruster makes coming alongside much less challenging for the novice skipper and helps keep everyone calm, even in more challenging crosswind conditions.
