If you're looking to go sailing just for fun without the pressure of achieving a qualification, or maybe you already have a qualification and you're feeling rusty and in need of refreshing your skills, or just want to gain some miles and experience but still have some fun. Then this is the course for you!
This 5 day, no pressure course is designed for sailors of all abilities to join us and “simply sail”. Fun is what sailing is all about, and this can be forgotten under the pressure of structured sailing and qualification courses. However, with our Sailing Refresher you can relax and enjoy the sailing and build on your current skills in a stress free environment. Just how sailing should be!
What’s covered on this course?
Our instructors will take your abilities and goals into account to tailor the week. You’ll get the chance to visit different places, build up your sail handling experience at a pace that suits you, but most importantly you will have fun whilst doing it. Our Sailing Refresher courses are run in tandem with our RYA Competent Crew and RYA Day Skipper Practical courses so you will have ample opportunity to meet like minded people and get as much or as little involved in the structured teaching as you want.

We spent a wonderful 11 days in November 2021 with Jolly Parrot. I completed the Coastal Skipper Combined course and my wife the Comp Crew. Instructors Flipper, IanG, Hailey, and Tom were all exceptional in their own unique way and we came away with more rounded skills and knowledge as a result of their patient teaching methods. Clive and Rachel did a fabulous job of shuffling schedules and boats to accommodate our different experience levels. Expect to be challenged on the Coastal Skipper course! We made some abiding memories, some long-term connections and friends, and hope to return soon for the next challenge maybe a mile-builder.
