In true Jolly Parrot style we have responded to the requests of our valued customers and created an event like no other! Our Ski and Sail adventure will see you start this adventure in the Spanish Ski Resort of Sierra Nevada for 3 full days of skiing in the Spanish sun before being transported to Malaga to jump on board the yacht for 4 days sailing along the Costa del Sol coast back to Gibraltar.
After a few hours travel in our pre-arranged bus from Malaga Airport, you will be up into the ski resort to your accommodation where you'll have time to sort all your ski equipment and lift passes. You'll then have 3 full days for as little, or as much skiing (and apres Ski) as you like before departing for Malaga to join the yacht for the return sail to Gibraltar.
During the ski phase of this adventure, we will be staying at the Hotel Apartartamentos Trevenque. These apartments are well positioned in the centre of the resort with access to all lifts, bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The Apres Ski in the resort is vibrant with a selection of very reasonably priced bars and restaurants - cheaper than the UK even! This makes for a reasonably priced adventure!
About Sierra Nevada
With more than 110 kilometres of trails contained in 131 ski runs, Sierra Nevada provides one of the largest and most attractive skiing domains in Southern Spain. The Ski area is suited to all levels with a selection of wide gentle runs for the beginners and those who like to take it easy, through to some testing narrow trails and steeper runs for the more advanced thrill seekers! January typically sees quite heavy snowfall in the Spanish mountains and we have chosen dates that avoid public holidays and school holidays.
After being transported from the ski resort to the marina in Malaga, our exciting sailing adventure begins. Under the watchful eye of an experienced Skipper, you will make your way along the coast to Gibraltar over 4 full days with overnight stops in selected marinas. During this adventure you will have the opportunity to practice your skippering skills and navigate and hone your sail trim skills. With a fair number of night hours and possibly even an overnight passage, this will be a great trip for those looking to take another qualification in the future and equally a great trip for those wanting to sit back and enjoy the ride! You can expect to see a minimum of 100 nautical miles safely tucked away under your keel on this trip.
Sailing: No experience required. Just a love of life and a sense of fun!
Skiing: Some experience is recommended . However, if this is your first time, there are many Ski schools who can provide lessons at a reasonable cost.
